Smith & Cult Nail polish review

Smith & Cult Nailpolish review

Smith & Cult is a relatively new brand on UK market, I have only heard some reviews on YouTube so far, so when I saw their nail polishes became available here, I had to try them.  The brand was created by Dineh Mohair, the founder of the well know on US market cosmetic brand, Hard Candy. Each of the nail polish colours is inspired by the the way she sees the world and colours around her.

The colours are really gorgeous and the names… well, unconventional to say the least and very different for sure. No to mention beautiful bottles which look like a statement decoration wherever you place them. With their assymetric, purposely dented and looking less than perfect but yet very perfect silver caps…I love the design of their large bottles and both of mine are standing proudly where I can see them waiting for collection to grow…  and I feel like it will very soon.

Laura Mercier Candleglow Luminizing Palette

Laura Mercier Candleglow Luminizing Palette – review and swatches

I came across this product when checking what’s new in a makeup world these days, and let me tell you, it landed in my basket pretty much right that moment. The first time I saw it, I knew I would get plenty of use out of it and I was very quickly sold. It contains four beautiful eyeshadows and two highlighters in a lovely and very cute compact.

I love highlighters, love the healthy glow they give and these colours looked like something I don’t yet own in my highlight collection so it seemed really appealing. I used to be very weary of anything that  adds any form of shine to my face, but used correctly, highlighters look beautiful even on oily/combo skin like mine. It all sounds great, except….

Delilah Cosmetics Under Wear Primer and Brow Line Pencil

Delilah Cometics – Primer and Brow Pencil review

I have already done some reviews of Delilah products in the past and must say, so far, I have been nothing but very pleasantly surprised with their high quality. From their bronzer and blush, to mascara and lipstick, they are all very much worth the price and are an absolute pleasure to use. Check out my previous posts if you want to read about these items, as well as a brief info on how this new brand called Delilah came about.

Now it’s time to talk about the last two of their products I picked up to try: The Primer and Brow pencil.I know primers are in general loved by some and hated by others, each to their own on this one, I guess. When it comes to brows though, it’s probably easier to find a needle in a hay stack than a person who doesn’t use some form of a brow product these days. By the way, if it is you, consider yourself very very lucky… and no.. I’m not jealous… at all…moving on…

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation review

If you had a magic foundation an could wave a wand over your face to create a perfect skin, what would you want that magic foundation to do? Asks Charlotte Tilbury while applying her new Magic product on the skin of various women, all with different skin concerns such as cystic acne, redness, birthmarks, fine lines, hyper pigmentation, large pores, to name a few. I must admit, the results, on all of these are very impressive.

I know we can all relate, more or less, as we all have something we would like to wave the magic wand over and make it go away. In my case, it would be fairly large pores, discolouration and hyper pigmentation, some occasional breakouts, some fine lines and oily t-zone. I cannot tell you that this foundation is magic for all skin concerns, as luckily, I do not suffer from all of them, but I can definitely tell you how it performed for me.

Charlotte Tilbury 'Bronze & Glow'

Charlotte Tilbury ‘Filmstar Bronze & Glow’ review and swatches

As a devoted fan of Charlotte Tilbury products, I can’t exactly explain why on earth it has taken me so long to finally get this, but I got there in the end. I heard nothing but good things ever since it first came out, so I knew I would not be disappointed. Also, out of all makeup items, bronzers have a special place in my heart (and a separate drawer!!) and I will never say No to a good highlighter…

If you follow me on Instagram (which I think you totally should if you love a bit of makeup madness….just saying..) then you’d know that I already own a fair few of Charlotte Tilbury items that I thoroughly enjoy and slowly grow my collection, so this little beauty had to find its place in my makeup collection eventually.

Body Lotions and butters The Body Shop, Palmers, Laura Mercier, Aveeno and Soap & Glory

My top 5 body lotions and butters

I am one of those people who have an oily/combo face but very dry body, so sometimes after shower, especially in colder months, my skin can get very uncomfortably dry and I hate that feeling. Luckily, I seem to belong to a rare species who actually enjoys using lotions and body butters so I go through ridiculous amounts of them and have moisturising firmly embedded in my evening routine. I like to feel comfortable in my skin and feeling dry is anything but, not to mention some of the body products smell soo heavenly that they’re good enough to eat, and the scent lingers for a long time. All I need afterwards is a warm bathrobe, a cup of tea and Netflix and my evening is sorted…so adventurous, I know..

Anyway, here is my top 5 body lotions and body butters that I use most often, all of which have been repurchased more than twice because they are just simply that good. What they all have in common is they keep my skin soft and comfortable for long after use, some are on a heavier side in terms of consistency, others are lighter, but all absorb quickly enough and don’t leave my skin feeling sticky. They also cover various price points, from very affordable, to almost ridiculously expensive.
