I know I’ve just literally posted my first Empties not that long ago and it may look like I’ll be doing one blog post a month about products I’ve used up, but that’s not quite the case. Ever since I cleaned up my space and got rid of some out of date items (surprisingly, there were’t that many), I really wanted to ensure I used up everything I have open and in rotation before I go ahead using another product.

I love trying new skincare and body care items, just as much as I enjoy trying new makeup and for the most part, I’m really good with finishing products. I use a heck of everything I have, be it moisturiser, body lotion, face masks and what not. That’s really the only way to check if something works or not, just by using it regularly. So here’s a second ‘Empties’ post containing some products I used up.

Starting with makeup, I have two lip products and eye liner that I finished recently. First one is Phyto Lip Twist from Sisley, which is a lipstick / lipgloss hybrid. I loved this little guy. Mine was in colour 01 Nude, which is neutral brown and I’ve been using it almost every day. It feels extremely soft, buttery, creamy and moisturising on the lips, applies very nicely and provides just enough amount of sheen to the lips to make them look healthy and plump. I used it on its own, for a soft wash of colour or on top of darker lip liner, such as MAC Stripdown, for deeper, darker shade. If it wasn’t for the fact that I have a lot of other lip products to use up, I’d definitely grab a few more colours. Beautiful!!

I finished one of Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Laque liquid lipstick. I did a separate blog post on these, so won’t go into details, check it here if you need more info and swatches. This is in colour 01, light rosy pink, and I used it mostly at home when I needed a bit of something on my lips. The colour doesn’t stay on my lips for too long and the watery feeling isn’t really my thing, but I seemed to have used this one surprisingly fast. I have a couple of more colours left, which I will get into and definitely will use up, but I won’t be repurchasing.

Empties Bourjois Rouge Edition Aqua Laque, Sisley Phyto lip twist, Clinique eyeliner

The Clinique quickliner for eyes in Really Black has been one of my favourites eyeliners and over the years I’ve gone through a bunch of these. They work beautifully either on the lid or in the waterline, not smudging, always staying put and surviving even those ‘watery eye’ kind of days. They include a little smudge sponge on one side and liner on the other. One thing I didn’t like about this one is the packaging. Once you twist out too much product, you cannot twist it back inside, it seems to only work on way, which can make you waste a bit of product, or dry it out quicker, if you’re not careful. So tiny bit at a time is the rule with this one. Other than that, really good eyeliner.

The Body Shop hand cream

One hand cream I finished recently is from The Body Shop and it’s one of those purse friendly, mini tubes that I absolutely love. There is a selection of different scents and they all smell divine. They’re not too greasy and absorb quickly, but at the same time provide enough moisture to my often very dry hands to make them feel soft and comfortable again. Perfect on the go and fit into small makeup bag. I love these little guys and always pick up a bunch on duty free, so I can always carry at least one with me.

Empties Balea Anti perspirant roll on in Pink Pomelo

I picked up this anti perspirant roll on from Balea while in Germany some time ago. I really liked the Pink Pomelo scent, very refreshing, sweet and fruity. That’s pretty much it though. Although I don’t suffer from excessive sweating, I found this product useless to keep my underarms dry and fresh for half a day, let alone morning to night. It may be ok for those lazy days of doing absolutely nothing, just sitting on the sofa and smelling good, but I don’t get too many of these…It totally didn’t work for me so will not be buying again.

Sanctuary Spa Feather Light Moisture Spray

I have always been a bit of a moisturising freak. I love the feeling of soft, subtle skin and moisturise religiously morning and night after shower. This Sanctuary Spa Feather Light moisture spray was great for a quick morning routine. Before this one I used to enjoy Vaseline Spray and Go moisturiser which was great. This one feels just a bit more oily at the beginning, but it absorbs really quick, smells delicious and leaves my skin feeling very soft for a long time. It’s also in a spray form, so very quick to apply, which is exactly what I need early morning. I feel Sanctuary Spa is one of those underrated brands, not mentioned too often but they have so many amazing products and this is definitely one of them.

St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse

When it comes to self tanning, I have been back and forth over the years, from not using anything and steering clear from all this faff that comes with it, to using self tanner constantly, always making sure I had some colour on me. Last summer was definitely self tan all the way! I’m finding it hard to embrace my paleness and just don’t feel comfortable being pale. I think having subtle bronze colour makes me look healthier and it just feels good. Simple as that. This Self Tan Bronzing Mousse from St. Tropez was really good. I have a tiny bit left in there, but I worry it’s so little, it will run out by the time I cover my whole body, plus it’s from last year, so I call it done. I really enjoy St. Tropez products in general and find them quick to apply, streak free, giving this beautiful natural looking tan. I won’t be repurchasing this one, because since then I went through Self Tan Express 1-3 hour and I liked that one better, it gave me a bit darker tan much quicker. But if you’re after just a very subtle, soft, healthy tan, then this one works great for that.

All right, now I can put all this empty packaging to where it belongs, da bin. Please don’t be surprised if I come up with another one of these pretty soon. I do have some products I’m flying through and I don’t like there too be too many per post because (as you’ve probably already noticed) I can talk… and nobody has time for that…Let me know what products you’ve used up recently. Would you repurchase or was it a waste of money? I’m always interested to know. Until next time xxx
