I have never tried any products from Living Proof, the price tags would always put me off. Let’s face it, they are not the most budget friendly shampoos and conditioners,  especially if you wash you hair very often.

However, I have always been somewhat intrigued by the brand, curious and perhaps a little bit hopeful that if I tried it, my hair would finally look more like Jennifer Aniston’s and a bit less that Edward Scissorhand’s… Do you picture him? Good…

My hair is very fine but there is quite a lot of it. It is colour treated, unruly, gets frizzy very fast (thank you, weather in UK, you have been most very unhelpful), ends are dry, roots get greasy quite quick. It cannot make up its mind if it wants to be straight or curly, so it does a bit of both and it is VERY difficult to brush after being washed (I have done a separate post on detanglers I use, so check it out if you also have problems with brushing your mane).

This conditioner is designed for dry, damaged, tangled and colour treated hair. I was a bit sceptical about using any leave-in product, but because this does not contain any oils or silicones, it does not weight my hair down at all. Instead, it gives it structure, or texture, if you wish, makes it more ‘substantial’ and not ‘fluffy’ as it normally is. One way I can describe it, is if you run through your hair just very slightly with a straightener, after washing and drying it, just to get rid of flyaways and give it more structure. That’s what this conditioner gives me, eliminating frizzles and leaving hair looking more shiny and healthy.

Living Proof No-Frizz Back

It smells lovely, fresh, slightly flowery but not too overpowering. The texture is creamy, not too heavy, distributes through hair very easily. I apply it about an inch or so from the roots right down to the ends.

I didn’t really notice too much of a difference when it comes to detangling properties, but like I said, my hair is very difficult to brush so I wasn’t really expecting any miracles there.

The packaging is plastic, so very travel friendly. It comes with only 118ml of product, which isn’t a lot considering the £20 price tag it carries, but I can honestly say, it really is worth it. You only need the tiniest amount so the bottle should last a while.

Overall, I am really pleased with this product and now also very tempted to team it with the same range shampoo and wash off conditioner. I’m very curious to see how they would work on my hair in conjunction, so there may be a review on some more Living Proof products very soon…

Until then, my hair is happy and so am I.

Living Proof products are available at Space NK , this one retails at RRP £20.
