Empties – products I used up + mini reviews

This post is way overdue and I have no idea why it’s taken me so long to post another empties. This is probably one of my favourite type of posts to write, as I feel that I can definitely give my opinion based on actually finishing the entire product. For the most part, anyway. Some of these have been repurchased a number of times, but I won’t be repeating them over the next posts, as it makes no sense.

I try so many skincare and makeup products that I want to let you know about the new ones, not repeat what you many have already read before. I’m not quite sure how this happened, but as I type this, I already have enough empty containers to make probably about five or more of these posts. I’ve been very careful not to but anything I don’t need lately, and so I’ve been using my backups of backups, as you do, to make sure I don’t waste anything. Not only has it been very satisfying to finish some products, but I also found some real gems in my stash that I cannot wait to tell you about in the upcoming posts.

Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil

Boscia MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil review

Makeup removers are one of those type of products I am usually very wary of. Basic as they are, I never have a problem investing a bit more to ensure it works the way I need it to. My eyes aren’t really over sensitive and can handle a lot in general, but wrong products used only once can cause serious irritation and discomfort for days afterwards. That’s probably main reason why I’ve been using one and the same makeup remover for however many year and never felt like switching.

If you’ve read my blog, I’m pretty sure you’ve come across me talking about Clinique ‘Take the day off’ balm and oil, and if not, check out my blog post Here to read more about them. These, especially the balm, have been my ‘go to’ products for many years and they work like a dream. It’s only recently that I started experimenting with different brands and while online shopping at Sephora one day, I decided to see for myself what the fuss about this product is all about.

Marc Jacobs Remarcable foundation

Marc Jacobs Re(Marc)able foundation review

I’ve always been a fan of full coverage foundations. If you look at any previous posts I made, where I either briefly mention, or ramble on through the entire post about any foundation at all, it’s always medium-full coverage. My combination skin doesn’t always need such strong coverage, and on the days that it doesn’t, I apply literally a dot and can comfortably cover my face with that. But when hell breaks loose and my skin wants to teach me a lesson, I am very grateful for full coverage base.

I am lucky enough to have found my holy grail product that I always go back to and know that I can rely on regardless if my skin looks good or not so much, regardless if it’s cold or very humid and regardless if I have an hour (when do I ever…) or five minutes to do my makeup. Have a look at my May favourites post to find out which foundation I’m taking about. This post is dedicated to one I’ve been trying out lately and after a few weeks of using it, I can give you my opinion on it.

May Favourites

May Favourites

I really don’t want to become one of those people stating the obvious every month, but I seriously cannot believe it’s already June!!! It’s unbelievable how time flies!!! It’s been a very busy month for me but definitely in a good way. I managed to settle a bit more in my new job and dare I say it… I really quite enjoy it. New place, new people, new challenges, slight change of lifestyle is exactly what I needed.

I never really thought I’d have time to grab a coffee and some breakfast and sit down in a coffee shop before work, relax, think and motivate myself for the day ahead (while still being the very first person in the office, by the way…) Little things and completely irrelevant to some people, but to me, they make my day and set the right tone from the early morning. This is definitely my first favourite of the past month and many months ahead I hope. Those ‘moments’ during the day that allow me to slow down, put my thoughts together and start with positive attitude.

ABH Brow Definer

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer review

My brows used to look like a hot mess back in the day. I’m far from saying that they look perfect now, but for the first time I can say that I’m happy and satisfied with how they look. I managed to even out the shape, and grow some hair where there were none, which was the worst part for me. I’ve always been tweezer happy and get seriously annoyed with any teeny tiny hair so have been plucking for years. All I can say is, with brows, just as some other beauty related regimens, it takes time, it’s a process but it’s definitely worth it in the end.

There are few things that helped me get it back into shape and are now helping me maintain it and make them look fuller and more even. First is Anastasia’s BH Brow stencils, on which I have a full post, so read it Here, if you’d like to know more about them. Second, the very famous and loved my millions Brow Wiz pencil. I’ve been using Brow Wiz for almost two years now and could not be happier. I love the shape, the very thin tip and the selection of shades available. It ticks all the boxes for me. So I’ve been very apprehensive to try ABH Brow definer, but curious as I am, my apprehension didn’t last too long.

April Favourites, Oribe, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Becca Cosmetics

March & April Faves

I seem to have skipped my March faves post so will try to combine the past two months without making this post a mile long. March and April were mainly about rediscovering products that I abandoned for a while either because I was using something else, or because I felt like something didn’t work for me they way I hoped it would. Having more time recently to play with makeup a bit more, I realised that I have some really kick ass products in my stash that have been wasting away! Sometimes it’s not about the product being bad, but the way we use it!

I also recently got a few new accessories which I’ve been really loving and enjoying over the last month. Somehow I seem to have transitioned from large handbags to smaller ones and have really been enjoying carrying some of the small ones lately, so that’s the main reason I wanted some accessories that are small but compact enough to fit all my necessities.
