December favourites

December ’15 favourites

And here it is! The year is over and it’s time for the last monthly favourites of 2015! I am very excited to see what 2016 brings and I always try to approach new year with a positive and can-do attitude. Two years ago exactly on New Year’s Eve I decided to quit smoking and haven’t smoked since. Last year was all about working out and slowly getting by body back into shape, which is ongoing and I will definitely carry on. Christmas season was an exception and I did overindulge a bit, but that’s ok, now it’s back to normal. One step at a time.

What’s that to do with monthly favourites you ask? Well, December for me is always time to reflect a bit. What I achieved last year, am I happy with where I am, what I want to achieve and where I’d like to get next year. I’m not really good with the list of new year’s resolutions, because most of the time life has other ideas and then I get frustrated for not accomplishing it, so I just don’t bother for the most part. But I do carefully think about some achievable goals that I am able to accomplish. Some may require a lot of work, others less, but that’s ok, nothing comes easy. So this was my first December favourite, reflecting and making decisions, breaking down big goals into small, manageable chunks so I can hit the ground running come January.  Other than that….

Autumn / winter essentials

My winter ‘Must Haves’ – skincare and fashion

After my recent closet clearout and getting rid of some items that I forgot I had, I thought it would be a great time to do a spot of shopping and get some new essentials for winter. As much as we all transition from light to a bit heavier makeup and quite often more potent perfumes during colder weather, these are not exactly the ‘essentials’ that I have in mind.

After all, I would be able to survive the cold weather without an eyeshadow (well, just about…or would I?…) but take away my hot water bottle, or my cosy scarf and I’m lost. For me, essential item is one that I just simply cannot get away without, that is a Must, either in my skincare, wardrobe, or just everyday life.

November favourites 2015

November favourites – what I’ve been loving last month

November was mainly concentrated around my skincare regimen, because my skin apparently decided to give me a bit of grief since it’s been too good to me for months… I can’t live for too long without an occasional breakout, life would be way too boring…so I had plenty of it last month and still getting rid of the remnants.

There has been some other items too, that definitely stood out for me last month and that I have been using pretty much on a daily basis.  Some of them relatively new, others oldies but goodies. So with this very random mixture of products, let’s go through everything I’ve been loving in November… better later than never, right?…

Blog Giveaway Xmas

My Blog Xmas Giveaway!!! – Now Closed, winner announced below

Season’s Greatings!!! No, not yet, but this is not going to stop me from posting it way before Christmas. Because December is a magic time. It’s a time of giving and receiving as well as having and sharing. And through this having and giving and sharing and receiving… by now you’re probably thinking I’ve gone mad… I’m not gonna go on (although I could) but if you are a devoted ‘Friends’ fan like me, then you’ll get this. If not, then the joke is on me…

Anyway, it’s time to give and what a better gift than some body care and makeup goodies. So here is my little Christmas giveaway. I have already done one on my Instagram recently (which is now closed) but though I’d also share some goodies with those who don’t follow me there, although you totally should..just saying…So here are the details.

October Favourites makeup and fashion

October Favourites – everything I’ve been loving last moth

One of my favourite You Tube video types to watch and Blog posts to read are monthly favourites. Other than doing detailed reviews of specific products, It’s such a great way to also mention other items, be it makeup, skincare or anything else for that matter, that stood out for me and may not necessarily be featured in a separate blog post.

So, I thought I would share my monthly faves and duds with you and tell you what I have been enjoying and what has not been so great and why. This will be absolutely anything, so expect to see some mix of fashion items, some food, skincare, music, places and of course a fair share of makeup. I am hoping that, by more of this kind of posts, you will get to know me a bit better and what I like in all aspects of life, not only makeup related.

Kate Spade planner 2016

Kate Spade 17-Month Agenda – Stylish planning

I have been on a hunt for a functional, well made annual planner for a while now and knowing I would be using it for over a year, I also wanted it to look pretty, but not too over the top so I wouldn’t get bored of it halfway through the year.

I am a firm believer in ‘To-Do’ lists, and make them all the time, both at work and in personal life. There is just something really satisfying in being able to tick off job done and move on to the next task. Not to mention, it keeps me on track of what needs doing and, however weird it may sound, it kind of gives me a push to do what I set myself to do. Not for the mere tick of the box, but the satisfaction that comes with completing a task, however big or small it may be.
