I have always been a large handbag kind of gal. I know the bigger the bag the more stuff we end up carrying in it, but that is just the way it is. I don’t like restricting myself to bare necessities and like to know that I’m ready to take on whatever the day throws at me.
If I have to grab a laptop, my planner (speaking of planners, there will be a review of my most recent, very exciting purchase coming soon… just saying), gym clothing, paperwork, lunch or just a little bit more makeup if I am getting ready for a night out, I want it all to fit into my handbag with some room to spare.
In other words, it needs to fit often hectic and busy lifestyle that most of us seem to have these days as well as being more of a heavy duty bag and give a good value for money in the long run.
High expectations for a handbag, but Tory Burch York tote fits the bill perfectly.
I have had mine for close to two years now and I am still very pleased I bought it. It is just perfect for every occasion and ‘my life’ fits in there just fine.
York is made of Saffiano leather, which is scratch and damage resistant, making it very durable, sturdy handbag that will still look great for years to come. I have been using it loads, to work, for weekend away etc and it is still in perfect condition, with not a single tiny scratch.
Yorks come in two sizes, small, and regular. Check the Tory Burch website for measurements. I have mine in regular size.
Inside there is a padded zip compartment, ideal for 15’ laptop. I usually keep my purse in theres as well, since it’s the only zip pocket inside. The zip compartment is not attached to the bottom of the bag. It is only attached to the side walls but you can effectively push it to either side or keep it in the middle. I hope you can see it properly in the picture.
I was a bit dubious about this at first, but now I think it’s even better as it makes the bag even more functional and you can tailor it to your needs ie. make more room if need be.
There is plenty of both zip and open pockets inside to fit you phone and other small items. The inside of the bag is not lined, as in no fabric lining, but again, it comes as a positive, as it very easy to keep clean. I usually use a baby wipe or a damp kitchen towel to clean it and give it a bit of a refresh.
I work in the office, so wear smart clothing for the most part, but over the weekend I like nothing better than pair of jeans and a t-shirt. This tote goes with absolutely everything I choose to wear, smart or casual, high heels or converse…
This truly is a multitasking, sturdy and functional bag. I got mine in burgundy at the time, but looking at all those summery colours that Tory Burch has released for summer, I am very tempted to grab another one of those! I have my eyes either on Mint Julep or French Gray colour, they are both gorgeous.
Small version retails at £215 and larger one at £255
